Bone Crusher Biography

Bizzy-BoneBorn as Wayne Hardnett in Atlanta, Georgia, BoneCrusher is a relatively new face in the field of rap music. Before becoming a successful rapper he had moved between labels with his earlier group, the Lyrical Giants, but eventually would sign with LaFace Records. Before then he was signed to So So Def Records. When that label joined Virgin Records he left the label, and currently LaFace is the only label that he is working with. While he was a member of the Lyrical Giants, he worked with fellow rap musicians Too Short and Erick Sermon, and the other two members of that group have also worked with him on his records. In 2003 he released his first album, AttenCHUN!, which featured the hit single “Never Scared,” and earlier this year released his follow-up record, Release the Beast. He has worked alongside musicians from various genres, including rap musicians Young Jeezy and T-Pain, pop singer Mariah Carey and rock band Three Days Grace. He worked with Three Days Grace to make a song for the soundtrack to the action film XXX: State of the Union. BoneCrusher’s name might come from his large stature, but recently he has been trying to change his image and lose some of his weight. He currently appears on the VH1 reality television series Celebrity Fit Club, a series involving celebrities trying to exercise, eat healthy and lose weight. Participating alongside celebrities like actor Vincent Pastore and singer Carnie Wilson, he has lost over thirty pounds over the course of the series. Also, he is expected to release his third record, rumored to be titled The M.A.S.H., in the next few months. While details of the album are sketchy and the album title itself is not completely confirmed yet, this album has already spawned a single in “Get Up On It,” which features a guest appearance from Chamillionaire.
