Bubba Sparxxx Biography |

 Born as Warren Mathis in suburban Atlanta, Georgia, Bubba Sparxxx is considered to be one of the top names in the Southern rap movement. He began pursuing a rap career after hearing rap music as a child. He worked with the group One Card Shi in the mid-1990s, but soon the group would disband. A few years later he recorded his first solo record, Dark Days, Bright Nights. The album would soon be picked up by Interscope Records, and eventually he began working with record producer Timbaland, adding additional tracks to the album. In early 2001 it was released across the nation under the Beat Club label name. It reached third on the Billboard U.S. Album charts and is a certified gold record. The album also features the single “Ugly,” which was a top twenty hit in the United States.
In 2003 Sparxxx released his second album, Deliverance, which did place in the Billboard Top Ten album charts in the United States, but that album did not sell as well as Dark Days, Bright Nights. Earlier this year he released his most recent record, the Charm. The album features the top ten single “Ms. New Booty,” which features an appearance by the Ying Yang Twins. Currently he works with Virgin Records under the Purple Ribbon Label group.
Sparxxx’ rap style is distinctive in that it combines both rap music and country. While he is applauded by people for his unique work, it still has hurt sales of some of his records, as it is believed that the average casual listener might be confused as to what genre he truly belongs to. Regardless, all three of his albums have reached the Billboard Top Ten charts, but only Dark Days, Bright Nights has been considered to be a pure success for him.
